The one thing we can always rely on in the Riverdale universe, once we think we know something, they will prove us wrong.

Spoilers below

We thought Hiram (Mark Consuelos) was locked up, and Veronica (Camila Mendes) was safe, but it should come to no surprise that he can come and go as he pleases. Veronica was shocked and scared all at the same time as her dad sat his desk. Hiram then told her he wasn’t born a Lodge, he was born a Luna, and when he changed his name to create a path for himself, his dad beat him.

The scene with Camila and Mark was quite intense. Ronnie may have been taken back for a moment, but she came back swinging. Instead of changing her name to Gomez, she’s taking her father’s birth name, Luna. And, she’s changing the locks and putting in an alarm. The girl isn’t playing and sets up more battles between her and her father.

I may have been happy that Hiram a was gone, but I have to admit, I loved the battles Veronica and Hiram had last season. Now we have to wait and see what Hiram’s next move is.

Multiple times in this episode, I asked myself if this was finally the end of the farm storyline. It seemed like it was coming to a conclusion with Edgar (Chad Michael Murray) sending his followers off to die and flying himself up in a rocket. A rocket?! Cults do some strange things.

It’s only the third episode of the season, but the writers were ready to terrify us. First, with Polly (Tiera Skovbye) being strapped with a bomb and Betty (Lili Reinhart) disarming it. Then with Betty getting knocked out and tied up with her mom.

I was on the edge of my seat, and it made me think this season will be the most intense yet.

It seemed like an inevitable conclusion to the Farm story when Alice (Mädchen Amick) shot Edgar, and they saved the Farmies. Then the doorbell rings, and there’s either more to this story, or we’re off on another adventure. This time with a VHS tape. Who has a VHS player? That might be their first hurdle before we find out what’s on the tape.

While Betty was trying to save her mother, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) was settling in at his new school, Stonewall Prep. There are so many Gossip Girl vibes happening in these halls. Bret (Sean Depner) reminds me a lot of Blair. We have a lot of psychological games coming our way, and I’m here for it.

Archie (K.J. Apa) is also trying to pave a new path for himself. He’s moving forward on the community center, even if he did have a misstep. He had such a hard time getting the money that he stole the cash from a drug dealer. I was so happy that Veronica wouldn’t clean the money for him and instead showed him that her investing in the center was the better way. She truly believes in him, and it’s shining a lot on her path forward too.

Now that Toni (Vanessa Morgan) has discovered Jason, does that mean we can get Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) some help now? I’ve been so worried about her.
